Grief,
The wave that it is
Cannot stop
its need to crash down more
God, be our breath breathed in
Gently landing
us upon the shore
Our path of Peace
Not washed
away in grief’s wake
Our God of
love blanketing all
In mercies sake
Yes, be the
Prince of PEACE
In the onslaught of truth
In Jesus’ name –
Amen
Scriptures
today in Context are from Zachariah’s Song in the first chapter of Luke. Verses 78-79 because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will
come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow
of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.
Devotions
today, simply anguished prayer, that He may illuminate tenfold for all who
mourn the loss of a loved one this morn.
Yes, and somehow even for the one who brought the tear, thier loved ones
too. “oh God, how do you pray this away?” “The reality is too harsh, the tears
to deep, loss too great in its senselessness.”
As watched a
nation mourn for the tragic losses in Sandy Hook, now see pain enter in another’s
door. This time dear loved ones …family
too. I could not imagine losing one this
way. God YOU know all things and you are
able…
Praise be a
glimmer of thanks may be found in knowing they are with you Jesus. Thank You
God, yes the tender mercy of our God, yes, knowing there is union with you and
it all may be our sunshine coming to us from heaven forever more. Casting out the darkness of death,
For by Your
love and grace it has no hold on our beloved.
Yes, loved
ones must walk, must somehow take that next step in the shadow of death…
Father God
in Jesus’ name be please that walk, that step, that journey on Your path of
PEACE. For it is ONLY found in You. Hold close my Lord those broken hearted that
have lost sight of Your sun light from heaven, feeling instead swallowed by the
shadow of death. Help them each rise up-
in Your RISEN PEACE- risen indeed. No more suffering no more grief for those ‘home’
with You.
Be that
image,
That peace
For each that mourns so profoundly today. Yes in Context a part of Zechariah’s Song- ‘the
rising star’ a reference to the coming of The Messiah, Zechariah not only
praised his own son (John) the “prophet of The Most High”, but also gave honor
to the coming Messiah. That those living
in darkness; the lost, separated from God, onto the Path of Peace…
Which in
this spirit represents fully
the Prince
Of Peace
Peace On
Earth
Jesus.
So yes,
today’s prayer is found in this father’s song too, of our Savior.
May He be
our peace path and way to press on in His light of truth today.
“Consider it
all joy” do NOT see this hour, for family, friends, loved ones that profoundly
mourn tragic, senseless loss…
God, You are
able.
